Acupuncture In East Meadow, NY

Paula Steele, L.Ac

Paula-Steele-AcupuncturistHello and  Welcome  to my practice here at On Point Acupuncture, LLC, in East Meadow on Long Island, New York.

My name is Paula Steele, L.Ac, M.S., M. Ed. and I am both trained and licensed in the state of New York as well as nationally board certified in acupuncture through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). For over 11 years I have been in practice, helping all ages- from infants through seniors well into their 90’s achieve better, if not optimum health.

Acupuncture is based on the theory that energy flows along channels in the body and that blockages in this energy flow lead to disharmony, and ultimately, illness. The body is designed to heal itself but if an imbalance is so great or becomes chronic then it needs a boost (acupuncture) to help it in the process. Acupuncturists learn which of the hundreds of pressure points along the channels most effectively help boost those body functions. By stimulating the points and their channels, the energy (Qi) begins to move again and the body is able to restore itself back to health and wellness.

Although most of my practice is a Family Practice- devoted to young, middle age and older adults of EVERY age, I also specialize in the area of acupuncture for children. I taught young children for 15 years at the Waldorf School of Garden City, and found that holistic education holds hands nicely with holistic medicine. Children are so lucky that their bodies uptake this form of medicine so readily!!  Just as they are quick to succumb to an acute illness, their bodies respond equally well to getting treatment and overcoming those illnesses!  To read more about how acupuncture works for babies and children, please go to my Pediatric Page!!

In addition to treatment, I educate my patients, both young and old, about how to best optimize their own health with thoughtful changes in nutrition and lifestyle.

Are you worried about having your medical symptoms merely managed using only the options of drugs or invasive procedures?  Did you know the body has its own healing mechanisms?  Think about the fact that even the most lauded physician cannot actually heal a tiny cut – because it is the body doing its own work of healing.  Why get in its way?  The marvels of modern medicine are only eclipsed by the marvels of the body’s natural self healing abilities.  Acupuncture can help bring the body into a balanced state, thus promoting this healing process.

So no matter what age or what medical condition, acupuncture will address multiple medical concerns you may have and provide a treatment plan that best serves your needs. To give you an example of what I am working with right now:  patients who are struggling with shingles, cancer treatment, arthritis, sport injuries, low back pain, depression and anxiety, chronic low immunity, and allergies- all describe the range of problems that are being helped here at On Point Acupuncture.

I encourage you to please, Call today for a free 15 minute consultation and I will be more than happy to answer any question you have regarding your health concern, or help you determine how acupuncture can be helpful for you.   Acupuncture has been instrumental to helping thousands of others like you, world wide over centuries.  It is one of the oldest healing systems known to mankind.   I look forward to introducing the marvelous benefits of Acupuncture as part of traditional Chinese Medicine to you and your family!
